​Flower: 2.5 - 4 cm in a terminal cluster.

​"Geranium" means crane, and another common name for this wildflower is "cranesbill" referring to the shape of the seed case.   When ripe, this pod pops and catapults seeds as far as 9 m. 

The seed has a tail called an awn which curls when dry and straightens when wet, enabling the seed to creep very slowly along the ground until it finds a suitable hole or crack in which to germinate.
