​Width of flower: 15-40 mm.

​Flowers: 5-9 petal-like yellow sepals, arranged in clusters. 

Plants grow in clumps.

​Pollinated by bees and early flies. The flower reflects light in the ultra violet range, so the centre part appears purple to insects, guiding them to the nectar.
